CURIO
Pop-up Shop
Fall 2024
Curio is an annual pop-up shop that showcases innovative, handcrafted products from students of all disciplines at Brigham Young University. The shop creates an opportunity for students to develop creative skills, work collaboratively with other artisans, and market their unique wares and brands.
Since 2017, the Graphic Design program at BYU has worked with the Design Department to help put on this event: fully rebranding and marketing the shop in new ways each year. A small team of design students collaborate each year to learn essential team working skills and the ins and outs of owning and operating an independent business.
Inspired by the woodblock type of the early 20th century and paying a nod to our department's temporary home in the wild West Campus Central Building, our visual concept for this year's storefront centered around being artisanal, comfortable, hand-crafted, vintage-inspired, eclectic, and nostalgic.
I had the opportunity to work on the Merch & Marketing team alongside Ella Babcock and Katie Javadi. Our task was to create visual guides, promotional materials, and branded merchandise for our shop.
SPECIAL THANKS TO:
Liz Bodell, Katie Javadi (Input & Output)
Ella Babcock (Merch & Marketing)
Elianna Bori, Emerson Mitchell (Storefront)
Grace Graviet, Chloe Jackson, Shumpei Suzuki (Art Direction)
Zoë Breillatt, Tavin Borrowman, Brett Hilton (Motion & Web)
