FRUiTS is a long-running zine created by photographer Shoichi Aoki in 1997. Each issue features photography (primarily captured by Aoki) showcasing the incredible fashion scene in Harajuku and other fashion districts in Tokyo, Japan. The zine regularly published issues up until 2017 but as a result to a resurgence in former editions of the zine gaining traction online, 2023 marked the return of the publication.

This redesign was done as a project for a typography assignment. I decided to reimagine and expand the zine to be a full-blown publication; highlighting archival photography as well as bringing to light the artists, fashion designers, and musicians impacted by and influencing Tokyo's style scene.
